An UNPUBLISHED image of a Hesquiat or Clayoquot First Nations woman (Nuu-chah-nulth) from the West Coast of Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada wearing a traditoinal woven western red cedar bark cape folded over her head to shed raid and to protect her forehead from the tumpline while carrying a burden basket. Seattle, Washington Studio, ca. 1910 - 1915. Signed in black ink by the artist in bottom right within the border. Unframed.
